SUSTAINABILITY

Building a more sustainable future

Small steps on a long journey...

As a business, we are always looking at ways to minimise waste creation internally and throughout our supply chain.

Our carbon footprint has reduced in recent years but we know there's lots more to do.

Each small step has a great impact. We're making progress in many areas and are committed to continuously improving.

Behind the scenes

The changes and progress we're making internally include:

Continuously evaluate operations to ensure they are as efficient as possible.

Actively promote recycling both internally and among our customers and suppliers.

We have installed LED lighting across both of our sites.

Introduced a 'Cycle to work' scheme to help reduce staff car usage.

Paper & plastics

Our catalogues are printed on 100% sustainably resourced paper and are now paper-wrapped saving tonnes of plastic a year! They're also easy for our customers to recycle, helping you do your bit too!

We use plastic packaging made from a minimum of 30% recycled material with the majority of our orders going out in bags that are at least 68% recycled material. They're also fully recyclable!

Longer life cycle

To avoid surplus stock ending its life as a landfill, we donate suitable items to charity partners instead, most recently Alder Hey and Claire's House.

Going green with deliveries

We can now offer you greener deliveries and returns through our logistics partner Evri.

A 10% reduction of carbon per parcel since last year.

We have reduced absolute operational carbon by almost a third in the last 2 years.

Introduced 30 new Bio-CNG tractor units, bringing the total to 190 - 52% of our core tractor fleet.

We are recognised for our achievements with 6 ESG awards.

Continue to build the biggest green fleet of any dedicated parcel delivery company in the UK in 2022-2023.
